Kaidon is a small, fast-casual Japanese yakiniku bowl shop on S Baldwin Ave in Arcadia, in the same busy plaza as Unreal Poke. The menu is mostly beef bowls over rice, from a soy-marinated Negi Shio Yakiniku Bowl to a loaded filet mignon steak bowl, plus sides like chicken wings, karaage and potato croquettes. The everyday bowl is the one to get: tender, evenly marinated beef and plenty of it for the price. It was still in soft opening in late October 2026. The brand also has a West Covina location.

Photo: Eat in SGVThin-sliced, soy-marinated beef over rice with grilled onions, chopped green onion and a soft soy egg. The marinade is a balanced mix of soy and sweet, and the beef is soft and evenly seasoned, so it doesn't need anything else. Generous with the meat for the price.
Photo: Eat in SGVThe premium bowl: sliced filet mignon with sesame and a sweet glaze, plus enoki tempura, crispy kale, kimchi and a big sheet of nori. The steak quality is solid and the crispy kale eats like kale chips, but the sauce is heavy, doneness varied from piece to piece, and the tempura needs a sauce from the counter. Worth it if you want the extras; otherwise the Negi Shio bowl is the better value.

"On a first visit, get the Negi Shio Yakiniku Bowl. It costs about half as much as the Ultimate steak bowl and it is the better bowl: the thin-sliced beef is evenly marinated, sweet and soy-forward, tender, and there is a lot of it. Grab a cup of Fire Sauce from the counter for anything you add on, especially the wings. It is the right stop for a fast, cheap lunch, and parking on Arcadia Ave saves you circling the lot."
