We grabbed chicken feet, spare ribs, shrimp rice rolls, and siu mai, our must-haves. Everything was steaming and flavorful. The spare ribs were extra tender and the shrimp rice rolls were silky with sweet soy sauce. Be ready to flag down a cart, though. It's not fancy but it's fast, reliable, and hits the spot when you want old-school dim sum.

Monterey ParkDim Sum Express in Monterey Park is perfect for a quick, cheap dim sum fix. It's a walk-up window with no seating, so you just order and go. For $6.57, we got a hot box of siu mai, turnip cake, and more. The siu mai are jumbo, the turnip cake is crispy, and you can order items individually. It's great if you want a snack or variety without overordering.
