Happy Together in El Monte doesn't have the biggest dim sum menu but every dish hits. The shrimp dumplings are huge, the cha siu pastry is flaky and buttery, and the egg yolk bun is delicious. There are no carts, just paper menus. Service is fast, the quality is solid, and prices are reasonable. It's definitely a worthy dim sum stop in SGV.

Dim Sum Express in Monterey Park is perfect for a quick, cheap dim sum fix. It's a walk-up window with no seating, so you just order and go. For $6.57, we got a hot box of siu mai, turnip cake, and more. The siu mai are jumbo, the turnip cake is crispy, and you can order items individually. It's great if you want a snack or variety without overordering.
